Philippians 1:9-11 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to test and prove what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
In these verses, Paul the Apostle is sharing his prayer for believers. He desires Christians to grow in love, knowledge, and spiritual discernment. As believers grow in these things, they become better able to discern what is pleasing to God and live lives that are pure and blameless as they look forward to the day of Christ.
Paul’s desire is that believers would be filled with the fruit of righteousness. This righteous fruit is produced through Jesus Christ and is evidence of God’s work in a believer’s life.
The key to bearing this fruit is abiding in Christ and walking by the Holy Spirit. As you remain close to Him, He will continue transforming your heart, growing you in spiritual maturity, and producing fruit in your life that brings glory to God.~ Jeff M Newman
