We Know That He Remains in Us: by the Spirit He Has Given Us
1 John 3:24

1 John 3:24 Whoever keeps His commandments remains in God, and God in him. And by this we know that He remains in us: by the Spirit He has given us.
Obedience to God is evidence of a genuine relationship with Him. However, obedience is not the basis of salvation. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. After someone is saved, they are called to remain in close fellowship with God and walk in His ways.
As believers abide in Christ, their lives will increasingly reflect obedience to His commandments. John also reminds us that we can know God remains in us because He has given us the Holy Spirit. The Spirit convicts us of sin, leads us into truth, and empowers us to follow Christ.
Ask God today to give you the strength to keep His commandments and abide in Him. Trust the Holy Spirit to help you walk faithfully with Jesus one day at a time. ~ Jeff M Newman
